Traditional Techniques
All of our Chesterfield furniture is handmade. Chesterfield sofas made by Abode Sofas are of a timeless design and created by time served craftsmen. Using traditional and trusted techniques, they are carefully constructed around robust hardwood frames, and every single piece is subject to the highest levels of scrutiny for excellence of craftsmanship and care. Any of our Chesterfield Sofas and Chairs will look just as good in 20 years to come as they do now.
Upholstery
Only the finest Italian aniline leather is used for our leather chesterfield sofas. We do not use bonded, PU or faux leather in any of our products. Hardwearing leather substitute can be sourced for commercial contract work.
It’s no secret where leather is sourced from, which means that the leather is not always perfect. Each and every range of leather all has it’s own individual characteristics. Scars, imperfections and growth marks are all natural occurances within the skin. Despite all these features, it has no effect on the wearing and the quality of the leather. The leather used to make our Chesterfield Sofas will look just as good in 20 years as it will on the day it is delivered.
Frames
Our Chesterfield Sofas have robust wood frames which are constructed from the finest naturally sourced beech. All frames used are defect free, dried and reinforced to reduce structural weakness.
All stress points within the frame are reinforced, dowelled and glued to give extra strength to produce a high quality long lasting structure for our Chesterfield Sofas to be built upon.
Our frames are covered in under-material to prevent the frame from cutting through the foam and causing cuts in the leather, resulting in no sharp edges on the Chesterfield Sofas at all.
Contract Specifications
We are more than happy to work with contract specifications, even offering our own in house design service if you require.
If the contract work is for commercial use, regulations require that all material within the property is Crib 5 fire retardant. If your project is for commercial use, please specify this with us and we can get any material treated for free. This is also available for residential.
