Antique Rub-Off Leather
The Antique Rub Off leather is a fine correct grain leather with an antique top coat. After the Chesterfield sofa has been upholstered , this top coat can be rubbed off in areas to reveal the lighter colour beneath thus giving an antique aged appearance. The leather will age with use revealing more of a base coat.
The Selvaggio leather is a natural distressed pull-up leather which offers a pleasant matte appearance after being brushed with beeswax. Due to being a natural hide, Selvaggio leather is designed to allow natural variations show through it’s finished surface. This leather has minimal surface coating applied giving it a more natural appearance retaining it’s natural characteristics and variations. It has been tanned and applied with extra fat liquors to ensure it gives of a distressed finished and waxy feel. Any furniture covered in this leather should be protected from direct sunlight and heat sources such as radiators to stop the wax drying out. Evidence of marks and scarring are very common on the leathers finished surface coat and this adds to the leathers characteristics.
Old English LeatherThe Old English leather is a natural fine grain aniline leather with a pleasing distressed look, that gives it an aged finish. The leather itself has been treated with fat liquors during the tanning process that gives it a waxy matte feel. This leather is a natural hide and will still have natural marking variations scattered around it’s surface.
